Falling For Fall

If you have had the chance to rise before the Sun anytime this past month, you most likely noticed the tell-tell signs that Autumn is upon us here in North Florida. It's getting closer and closer to daily sweater weather and I am ready for it! Now, don't get me wrong, I love our Florida summers too! While growing up in Wakulla County, I was able to enjoy many beach and river days where the long, hot summer days seemed to never end. But it's hard to deny that there is something magical about the Autumn season.
Other than Pumpkin Spice Lattes and spooky seasonal decorations this change of season brings about a renewed sense of gratitude. We become grateful for the cool morning breezes that cuts the engulfing heat of the lingering Summer. We start planning
our holiday trips and look forward to catching up with family and friends that we haven't seen in a while. When we see the changing colors of the leaves, we start to become aware of the changes that are happening within ourselves.

The Autumn Equinox brings us shorter days and longer nights, cool weather and the chance to grow some of the most delicious produce that is cultivated all year long. The Fall and Winter growing season at Humphries' Homegrown will include a diverse range of greens, lettuces, root crops, and herbs. All crops will be available at the Lake Ella Growers' Market & the Red Hills Online Market. Follow us on Instagram and Facebook to stay in the loop on market days and hours. We will also be offering a Fresh Foods box, this box will include a colorful mix of all produce being grown. The box will be delivered on a bi-weekly basis and there is a limited quantity available so make sure you're staying engaged on our social media pages to snag yours!
